REPOST @dstinc1913 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Delta Sigma Theta is committed to honoring our sister survivors and those in our communities still courageously battling this disease. We recognize the strength and resilience of these women, and men, whose bravery continues to inspire us.
It is especially important for us to acknowledge that Black women are disproportionately affected by breast cancer, with higher mortality rates compared to other racial groups. This makes early detection and proactive healthcare even more critical in our communities.
Delta Sigma Theta remains steadfast in its mission to support and uplift our communities, particularly when it comes to addressing the health disparities that impact Black women. Let’s continue to raise awareness, promote early detection, and work toward a safer and healthier future for those impacted by breast cancer.

Yesterday, the Valley Forge Alumnae Chapter launch

Yesterday, the Valley Forge Alumnae Chapter launched Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s LEAD Program. We held an engaging and informative orientation for our mentors and mentees, expertly facilitated by Soror Cynthia R. Muse, a Past Member of the National Leadership Academy. We were honored to have immediate past Eastern Regional Director, Rosie Allen-Herring, and past Eastern Regional Director and VFAC’s own, Theljewa Garrett, as panelists. It was an incredible afternoon of learning and sharing. Special thanks to our LEAD Committee Chair, Monet Davis, and to all the sorors who stepped up to serve in our inaugural cohort of mentors and mentees. ✨🙌🏾🔺♥️

This weekend, Valley Forge Alumnae Chapter kicked

This weekend, Valley Forge Alumnae Chapter kicked off our program year with a fun-filled two-day retreat and our first chapter meeting! We connected, learned, and enjoyed some amazing fellowship. Along with our Risk Management and Social Action workshops, one of the highlights was the True Colors activity, helping us better understand each other’s unique personalities and perspectives for stronger teamwork. We also had a blast with games like “Speed Delta” and “Delta Feud,” and cheered on our EAGLES 🦅💚 in our PJs and Pearls. It was a weekend of real, heartfelt conversations that fostered growth and sisterhood. This retreat was truly one for the books! A special thank you to our Membership Services for all of their hard work. 🔺♥️
